LONGWIRE ANTENNA
This longwire antenna was made using about 26 meters of wire and is mounted between two TV antenna masts. It is anchored to the first mast at one end and to the ground on the opposite side, but
it is allowed to slide freely using a pen tube relatively to the second mast (like a pulley), in order to adjust the tension in case of wind. It features an homemade lighting arrestor using
another pen tube and two screws. Considering the poor materials used, reception was great. I was able to listen clearly to UVB76 for the first time. It works well on shortwave.
